TITLE - Campus Life Director

CATEGORY - Glenwood Springs, Northwestern Colorado Youth for Christ  


General Purpose:

The Campus Life Director is responsible for overseeing and developing Campus Life ministry at one or more Campus Life sites, as well as developing and engaging community support of the YFC Mission*.

* OUR MISSION STATEMENT:  Youth for Christ reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their Godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ, and commitment to social involvement.


Essential Functions:

NWC Youth for Christ’s Campus Life Director will lead and equip like-minded partners to engage in authentic, Christ-sharing relationships with students.

The Campus Life Director (CLD) is responsible for leading and fulfilling the Youth for Christ (YFC) vision and mission in Glenwood Springs. This includes recruitment and leadership of volunteers in the ministry, participating in the development and maintenance of a financial support network, and ministry outreach to 11-19 year old kids in Glenwood Springs. 

Guided by the 5 Essentials* and implementing Relational Ministry Actions, the CLD is accountable to the Executive Director and Ministry Director.

These duties are a representative sample; position assignments and detailed work instructions may vary.

* The 5 Essentials are targets of faithfulness to be practiced at each YFC ministry site so that the Spirit of God may favor the ministry with fruitfulness and sustainability.

Campus Life Director

Minimum Education: Bachelors degree, or High School Diploma plus 2+ years youth ministry experience.

Candidate must be a self-starter with a passion for discipleship and relational evangelism, who wants to be part of an excellent growing team of youth ministry professionals. The candidate must be willing to live in or relocate to their ministry area.

Fundraising Responsibilities
All YFC employees will be given the opportunity to be involved in the Stewardship functions of NWC Youth For Christ. These opportunities could include fund raising events, circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, and other opportunities as provided.

Spiritual Responsibilities
Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.

Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
Additionally, YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA. As such, the following additional responsibilities of a spiritual nature will apply to this position:

Perform sacramental functions such as the taking of communion and leading times of corporate prayer, confession and praise.
Perform and lead religious ceremonies such as weddings, baptism and funerals if and when called upon by staff and other members of the YFC community.

Ministry Credential

All full-time staff are required to complete their Leadership Blueprint within 2 years of hire and upon completion, will be awarded a YFC/USA Ministry Credential.

Required Physical Activities:

Work Environment:

While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.

Required Travel:

The employee is frequently required to travel within the Colorado and Roaring Fork valley.  Some intra-continental travel will be required for youth camps and YFC training. 

Computers and Other Equipment:

Employee will often use computers and relevant software applications; mobile telephone; televisions with Bluetooth and/or other connectivity applications.
